One Night Class
Distracted Dog Class: If you like the idea of nice leash walking, a good recall, and a dog that listens, the foundation skill you need to be successful, is attention and focus. Stop struggling through the training of basic skills and let's help you work on your connection with your dog. A dog that is at the end of a leash pulling toward other dogs, people, or distractions, is not paying attention or listening and is not capable of learning. This class will help you create a connection that will then help you be more successful in your other classes and in your training at home. In this one-night class Robin Crocker, Telling Tails owner and long-time service dog trainer, will give you the techniques you need to work on having more focus from your dog. When appropriate for the dogs level of progress, we will work on attention around increasingly more difficult distractions.
Prerequisite: This class is appropriate for dogs that have been through Pet Dog 101 and who can function in a class without excessive fear or barking.

What to bring to "One Hour" classes:
• One hungry dog (feed no more than half dog's breakfast or dinner before class)
• Dog on a flat collar or preferably a body harness (Make sure these are fitted correctly!) with a regular 4' - 6' leash
• Soft, meat-based treats that can be broken up into small pieces (no biscuits, please!)
• A baggie of real meat or cheese that is cut up into tiny pieces (bring more treats than you think you will need!)
• A treat pouch or fannie pack to hold the treats for fast access
• A stuffed, frozen Kong or Lick Mat (Canned dog food, peanut butter or cream cheese), or some high-value chew for your dog
• Please wear comfortable, rubber-based shoes with backs
