Adventures in Advanced Training

Adventures in Advanced Training

The focus of this class is on strengthening connection, communication, and collaboration between handler and dog across a wide range of environmental conditions. Greg will take you deeper into the science of behavior, helping you engineer behavior change in real time.

Work will include both on-leash and off-leash exercises (once teams are appropriately conditioned and ready for safe off-leash work). Exercises include structured greetings, recall in stimulating environments, distance work, self-modulation (impulse control" concepts such as “leave it,” and engagement-based games like “find it” and “find me.” These experiences are designed to strengthen behavioral fluency, choice-making, and reinforcement value of the handler in increasingly complex environments.

Handlers will learn to better observe contingencies in real time, refine their timing, and adjust their own behavior to improve communication with their dog. The result is a more connected team capable of navigating everyday life with clarity, adaptability, and mutual understanding.

First class at 1:00pm at the training center.
All other classes at 1:30pm at locations to be determined by Greg.

Prerequisites: Pet Dog 101, Pet Dog 102, Advanced Handler.  Dogs must be both dog-people and dog-dog-friendly, and be comfortable working around other dogs and varied stimuli.
